Air washers are classified into three main groups: 4, 6, and 8 based on the ratio of the airflow rate inside the air washer to the sprayed water flow rate.

• Class 4: In this class, the cool air exiting the air washer has a relative humidity of approximately 60%.
• Class 6: In this class, the air exiting the air washer has a relative humidity between 60 and 80%.
• Class 8: In this class, the air exiting the air washer has a relative humidity of over 80%.
  
  

Note: Due to the higher water flow rate sprayed in Class 8 air washers, the air temperature is reduced more than in other types.

The cooling performance of the air washer devices in summer is as follows:

1. First, by entering fresh air into the air washer and passing through the filtration system, the dust is removed, and then the clean air enters the main chamber of the air washer for cooling.
   
   
2. By installing a pump inside the device and pumping water and directing it towards the water spray nozzles, the water in the air washer chamber is sprayed and powdered, which is cooled by the air passing through the device and cools the air.
   
   
3. The entry of fresh air into the air washer and its distribution to the air transfer channels is carried out by an electric motor and a strong fan installed inside the device.

The heating performance of the air washer device in winter is as follows:

1. First, the water is heated by the heating package device or the central engine room and then directed to the air washer heating coil.
   
   
2. With the flow of hot water inside the coil and on the other hand, the air volume passes over the surfaces of the heating coil, the air temperature increases, and the warm air is transferred to the indoor environment through the channels.
   
   

Note: The heating system of the air washer can be implemented in two forms: mixed air and full fresh air. In the mixed air mode, a percentage of the required air volume is received through the return channel (air in the environment) and the rest from the outside air, and in the full fresh mode, all the required air is supplied from the outside air, which in such a case increases energy consumption and related costs.

The structure of this type of filter is that several layers of aluminum mesh with very small holes and a honeycomb arrangement are placed on top of each other in a sinusoidal form, so that as the air passes through this filter, dust and suspended particles in the air are absorbed, resulting in clean air.

Dehumidification in air washers is possible when the temperature of the water sprayed in the air washer is lower than the wet temperature of the incoming air. The colder the water sprayed, the greater the dehumidification of the air, and therefore the cooler the air becomes.
