Ladders and steps are essential equipment for a swimming pool to help swimmers get out of the basin. In pools over 10m long, it is best to use two ladders (one on the deep and another on the shallow side), while one on the shallow side would suffice in smaller pools.
Pool ladders are often made of 304 or 316 steel with steps of ABS, steel, or a combination of steel and anti-slip plastic. Ladders with 2-6 steps are used depending on the depth of the pool at which the ladder is installed. The riser height is usually 25 or 30 cm.

Pool ladders are available in various models including the standard, two-piece, club, and ramp. To select from the multitude of options, factors such as the use of the pool and whether the coping is at level with the ground (is there an overflow grating?) or is above ground (the width of the edge and whether it has an overflow grating) need to be taken into account.
The standard pool ladder is the most common design and the best choice provided there is enough landing space.
To ensure resistance to rusting, the ladder must be made of non-magnetic stainless steel (unable to attract magnets). Based on its placement on the coping or behind the grating, pool ladders are available in the following types:
a) If the ladder is to be installed on the coping and near the edge, the club model should be used.
b) If the ladder is to be installed behind the grating or the coping, a typical (open) model should be used.
To decide the number of steps of the pool ladder, one must take into account the distance between the edge and the bottom of the pool. However, in deeper parts of the pool, four to five steps will be enough regardless of the depth.
To determine the number of steps, at depths of 140 cm and above, at least three steps must remain under water.
The most popular, best-selling pool ladder brands in Iran are Flexinox, IML, Spa Gold, and Jazzi.
