Turbine Flowmeter: In this method, by measuring the rotation speed of the turbine blades when the fluid is passing and its ratio with the speed of the fluid passing through, it calculates the volume of fluid flow.
Electromagnetic Flowmeter: In this method, an electromagnet creates a magnetic field perpendicular to the flow; then, by measuring the voltage proportional to the speed created in the conducting fluids, it calculates the volume flow. Attention should be paid to the minimum fluid conductivity and fluid speed in this method.
Vortex Flowmeter: In this method, electric pulses are produced by creating an obstacle in the way of the fluid, and the fluid speed and volume are calculated.
Coriolis Mass Flowmeter: In this method, the device measures the mass flow based on the Coriolis acceleration phenomenon. A flexible tube is placed in the fluid path, and by measuring the Coriolis force resulting from the passing flow, which is caused by the oscillation perpendicular to the direction of the fluid, passing through this tube, the mass flow rate of the fluid is measured.
Thermal Mass Flowmeter: In this method, the basis of the work is based on parameters such as pressure, density, and adhesion. The transmitter calculates the mass flow based on the thermal energy supplied to the heater and the temperature difference measurement between two temperature sensors inside the fluid tank. These flowmeters are not suitable for acidic fluids due to the possibility of sensor wear and tear.
Differential Pressure Flowmeter: In this method, by placing an obstacle in the path of the fluid, the amount of pressure drop or difference is measured, and the mass flow of the fluid is calculated.
Variable Area Flowmeter: These flowmeters include a conical metal or glass tube containing a float to move according to the flow rate of the fluid. With the movement of this float, the flow rate of the fluid is obtained, and the mass flow of the fluid is calculated.
Positive Displacement Flowmeter: In these flowmeters, there is a chamber that divides the flow into smaller units, which calculates the total flow by counting the number of volumetric units transferred. Their flowmeters have different types: arm flowmeters, disc flowmeters, rotary flowmeters, piston flowmeters, and vane flowmeters.
