Photocell burner

As you know, the main prerequisite for doing anything is to have proper information about that subject. In order to select, review the prices, buy, and learn more about burner photocells, the following information is included so that you, dear visitors of the specialized website of DamaTajhiz, can use these tips to get enough information to choose and buy any burner photocells motors from Honeywell, Satronic, Siemens, Shokuh, etc. brands in bulk.

Burner Photocell

In general, photocells are light-sensitive devices that generate an electric voltage after the light hits the photoelectric cell embedded in the glass bubble. With the help of this voltage, they change the status of electrical and electronic devices from on to off or vice versa. Join us in introducing and checking the performance of different types of burner photocells in the rest of this article (for wholesale purchase).

How a Photocell performs in a burner?

When the flame of the burner or boiler is turned off, the photocell (cadmium sulfide) sends a signal to the burner's relay. After about 15 to 20 seconds, the solenoid valve of the fuel burner is closed or disconnected. If the glass of the photocell bubble is dirty, it may cause a problem with the flame detection function, and the ignition transformer may not be cut off, or the burner may be turned off incorrectly or not turned off on time. To prevent this, photocell plates should be placed inside the chamber and installed where the components inside the pot and the flame can be seen. Therefore, photocell is used in diesel and gas burners to provide a command to the ignition transformer of the burner after the formation of the flame and combustion and to prevent the accumulation of fuel inside the furnace of the boiler and the possibility of explosion.
Photocells usually comprise small ceramic plates impregnated with a spiral material (cadmium sulfide) called photoelectric cells and have semiconducting properties. The two ends of the spiral are connected to the base of the burner relay by two strands of wire, and this set is inside a glass case. (Cadmium sulfide is sensitive to light, and if no light shines on it, its electrical resistance increases significantly (about two megaohms, which the ohmmeter shows as infinity), and when light shines on it, its electrical resistance decreases significantly (about 600 Ohm)).
So when the burner is on, the photocell receives the light, and the resistance of the cadmium sulfide decreases, and as a result, a weak induction current is established in the relay circuit. When the burner is turned off, the power no longer reaches the photocell, and the cadmium sulfide's electrical resistance increases a lot. Slow, the current does not reach the base of the relay, so the relay is reset. In less than 0.08 seconds after the burner is turned off, the photocells close the solenoid valve and shut down the burner.

Photocell burner

Photocells are used in burners, automatic lamps, solar cells, light diodes, cameras, smoke detection sensors, etc.

The ohmic resistance of photocells differs and depends on the type of use and light intensity.

Points to consider when using a photocell

  • The glass bulb of the photocell eye must always be clean so that the light shines on it ultimately.
  • Except for the desired light source, miscellaneous light should not shine into the photocell's eye. Therefore, rotate the photocell in its place so that its sensor (photoelectric cell) is directly in front of the boiler's combustion chamber or heater.
  • For the photocell to function correctly, the temperature of the photocell installation location should be a maximum of 60 degrees Celsius.
  • If the temperature around the burner photocell is more than 60 degrees Celsius, use a photocell with an aluminum cap.
  • Remarkable eyes should be used for jet heat burners.
  • Avoid connecting the phase and neutral to the eye and use periodic service for better photocell performance.
