Halogen pool lights

Compared to LED lights, the Halogen lights generate a considerably greater amount of heat, which is absorbed by the pool water. In case the pool water level drops such that the Halogen lights are exposed to air, the generated heat is sufficiently high to deform the lightbulb and its frame. In case of contact with swimmers’ bodies, the Halogen light can cause skin burning.

Installing Halogen pool lights at a depth of 50 cm or more protects them from being exposed to air in case some of the water is vapored or the water is siphoned (which is done to reduce the TDS of pool water). Exposed lights considerably increase the risk of harming the swimmers or damaging the pool lights. The light spacing depends on their lux level and its minimum value is 3 m.

The illumination installations inside the pool basin (i.e. the pool lights) are cooled by the pool water. Therefore, all the underwater installations should be installed 50 cm below the water surface, except in the designs intentionally devising smaller depths for the installations.

Pool lights, illumination installations, and pool speakers are generally designed and manufactured based on voltage levels of 24 V and 12 V to ensure the safety of users.

• Employing low-voltage electric equipment (12 to 24 V)
• Equipping electric circuits with fault relays
• Proper and careful insulation according to the standards
• Interlocking the metal components (pool ladder, diving board, pool lights, etc.) to have zero potential difference and separate the equipment and electric circuits.
• Observing the allowed distances between some equipment and electric paths near the pools

• The minimum aerial cables located within the outdoor pool area should be 6 meters from the pool basin from all 6 directions.
• The minimum distance between the underground cables (buried cables) and the pool basin should be 2 meters (both indoor and outdoor pools).
• The minimum distance of outlets and switches from the basin should be 4 to 5 meters.
