The design of the DamaTajhiz 200-Ton Fiberglass Cubic Cooling Tower (CUBIC) features a COUNTER FLOW air circulation system.

In general, DamaTajhiz Cooling Towers are used to cool (reduce the temperature of) circulating water in the condensers of water-cooled HVAC systems, industrial processes, power plants, refineries, and more.

The DamaTajhiz fiberglass cubic cooling towers are manufactured in various capacities based on modern technologies and international standards. They offer optimal dimensions, sufficient fiberglass body thickness, and a high volume of packing material. These units also feature advanced water spraying and distribution technology, delivering superior performance, reduced water consumption, and easier maintenance compared to other models on the market.

Cubic Cooling Tower Performance

  • As air flows through the cubic cooling tower and cools the circulating water, a portion of the water evaporates. Once the cooling process is complete, the cooled water collects in the basin at the bottom of the tower and is pumped back to the chiller or production process.
  • In HVAC applications and for warm cities, the design and calculations of cubic cooling towers are based on an inlet water temperature of 95°F, an outlet water temperature of 85°F, and a wet bulb ambient temperature (W.B.T.) of 75°F.
  • The minimum outlet water temperature of cooling towers depends on the wet bulb temperature of the installation location during summer. Normally, the outlet water temperature is about 2.5 to 3°C higher than the local wet bulb (WB) temperature. For example, in regions with a hot and humid climate, where the summer wet bulb temperature is around 23.8°C, the typical cooled water temperature is approximately 26°C.
  • The DamaTajhiz 200-ton fiberglass cubic cooling tower is a DRAFT INDUCED type, which means air circulation inside the tower can occur both naturally and forcibly. Forced air suction is performed using an AXIAL fan located at the top of the tower.

Cooling Tower Casing and Basin

  • The casing components of DamaTajhiz cubic cooling towers, including the 200-ton model, are made entirely of reinforced fiberglass with high durability. They are UV-resistant due to their double external coating layers.
  • The casing and basin parts are easy to assemble for annual maintenance. Auxiliary connections are made of non-metallic materials such as PRC, FRP, ABS, or stainless steel/aluminum.
  • Fibers: The base fiber used in fiberglass parts is of woven or mesh type. Additionally, needle mat fibers are used to enhance the strength of the body.
  • Resin: The resin used in DamaTajhiz fiberglass cooling tower components is an unsaturated polyester resin of isophthalic type, model BKC, with ISO 9001 certification from SGS. The resin code is 2200.
  • The BASIN of the cooling tower is made in one piece from 10 mm thick F.R.P fiberglass. For added strength, it includes two reinforcing mat fiber layers and two inner layers of UV-resistant vinyl ester gel coat.
  • The fan used in DamaTajhiz cubic cooling towers is a Multi-Wing type.

Electric Motor (MOTOR)

  • The electric motors used in DamaTajhiz fiberglass cubic cooling towers are mostly manufactured by Motogen and feature IP54 protection with a long operational life.
  • DamaTajhiz cooling towers are designed as low-noise units in standard mode, with special models available in ultra-low-noise configurations. Their size and price differ accordingly.

Packings in Cubic Cooling Tower

  • The DamaTajhiz 200-ton fiberglass cubic cooling tower includes two rows of net splash packings.
  • The packing sheets used in DamaTajhiz cubic fiberglass cooling towers are wavy and arranged in a honeycomb pattern. The grooves in the packings are designed in a sinusoidal shape, minimizing clogging while maximizing heat transfer by providing an optimal surface for water film formation, quick evaporation, and greater air contact. These cooling tower packings are typically 19 mm film type made of antibacterial PVC with pharmaceutical-grade (FDA approved) coating and 400-micron thickness. Alternatively, they may be splashing or random splash packings made of first-grade PP with pharmaceutical-grade antibacterial coating and 500-micron thickness.
  • To minimize drift or water droplet carry over from the top of the 200-ton DamaTajhiz fiberglass cooling tower, blade-type eliminators made of PP are installed above the nozzles, reducing droplet carry over to less than 0.002% of circulating water.

WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

In the DamaTajhiz 200 Ton Fiberglass Cubic Cooling Tower, incoming water enters the distribution nozzles through central polyethylene or PVC pipes and is evenly sprayed over the packings. (Nozzles are selected based on climate conditions and customer requests.)

SUPPORTS

The supports of the DamaTajhiz Cooling Tower are made of hot-dip galvanized steel.

DamaTajhiz cubic cooling towers comply with mandatory O.S.H.R standards. For easy access to mechanical and electrical parts, hot-dip galvanized ladders are installed.

The fan stack support frame is made of 6 mm thick galvanized sheet. The protective fan guard mesh is made of heated steel with zinc coating thickness ranging from 83 to 110 microns. Motor support bases and frames are also made of hot-dip galvanized angle iron.

Panel holders, base frame, outer supports, and external holders are made of hot-dip galvanized iron with 200-micron zinc coating.

ELIMINATOR (DRIFT ELIMINATOR)

To reduce drift or water droplet carry over from the top of the DamaTajhiz 200 Ton Fiberglass Cubic Cooling Tower, blade-type eliminators made of PP are installed above the nozzles, reducing water carry over to less than 0.002% of circulating water.

COOLING TOWER FAN COMPONENTS

  • Fan Blade:Made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), offering higher chemical and physical stability compared to aluminum blades. Its smooth surface minimizes friction and air resistance. Manufactured using isophthalic resin and premium-grade fibers.
  • Fan Arm:Connects the impeller to the hub, made of galvanized carbon steel.
  • Fan Hub:Made of ductile iron with a coupling design, facilitating easy blade assembly.
  • Bolts & Nuts:High-strength dry bolts are used for assembly. In corrosive or acidic environments, stainless steel fasteners may be used instead.

INVERTER SYSTEM

If ordered with an inverter system, the DamaTajhiz cubic cooling tower can adjust fan and motor speeds via the electrical panel to precisely control the cooling water temperature. (A separate panel is required when using an inverter system.)

The inverter frequency changes based on temperature sensor feedback. The motor power remains constant due to frequency variation. When temperature precision is not critical, a thermostat may be used for simple on/off control.

Estimating Required Installation Space

All cooling towers must be installed outdoors and exposed to free airflow. Sufficient clear space around the tower is required to ensure fresh air access.
The hot exhaust air must be discharged in a way that prevents it from recirculating back into the cooling tower, which would increase the wet bulb temperature and reduce cooling efficiency.
In general, for towers up to 2.5 meters high, a space of 0.1 square meters per ton of cooling capacity is needed for every 50 m² of the building’s usable area (in residential use). For towers over 2.5 meters, this increases to 0.12 square meters per ton per 50 m² of usable space.

Transportation and Installation of the Cooling Tower

If the diameter of your purchased cubic fiberglass cooling tower exceeds 250 cm, it is recommended to transport the unit in disassembled parts to the project site to prevent any damage during transit. Final on-site assembly for units larger than 250 cm will be carried out at an additional cost.

If it is not possible to transport the cooling tower as a whole to the project site or rooftop installation area, please request the cooling tower in a disassembled configuration at the time of purchase.

All transportation costs, and if required, on-site reassembly costs, are the responsibility of the buyer.
