Performance of DamaTajhiz Fiberglass Cubic Cooling Tower DTC-CO 20

  • With the "COUNTER FLOW" airflow type, some of the water in the cubic fiberglass cooling tower of the 20-ton refrigeration equipment is evaporated to cool the circulating water. Due to the heat absorption of the evaporation process, the rest of the water returns to the cooling tower (a temperature higher than the WET BULB temperature) environment which, after collecting in the cooling tower's pan, is sucked by the water circulation pumps of the tower.
  • In general, the calculation and design of cubic cooling towers have been done based on the inlet water temperature of 95 degrees Fahrenheit (ca. 35 °C), the outlet cold water temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit (ca. 29 °C), and the wet air temperature of W.B.T.75°f.
  • The temperature of the water leaving the cooling towers depends on the temperature of the humid air in each location, and the average temperature of the water leaving the cooling tower is approximately 2.5 to 3 degrees Celsius higher than the temperature of the humid air (WB) in the same location. For example, suppose the maximum humid air temperature in the Middle East in summer is typically 22 degrees Celsius under normal conditions. In that case, the temperature of the water cooled by the cooling tower is about 25 degrees Celsius.
  • The cubic fiberglass cooling towers are of the suction type (DRAFT INDUCED), and the airflow rotation in the tower is possible in both natural and forced ways. The forced suction is done by the AXIAL fan located at the top of the tower.
