60 Ton Cooling Tower Performance

• As air flows through the cooling tower and cools the circulating water, a portion of the water inside the cooling tower evaporates. After cooling, the water collects in the basin at the bottom of the unit and is then directed by circulation pumps to the chiller or production process.
• Generally, the design and calculation of cubic cooling towers for HVAC applications are based on an inlet water temperature of 95 °F (ca. 35 °C), an outlet cooled water temperature of 85 °F (ca. 29 °C), and an ambient wet bulb temperature (W.B.T.) of 75 °F (ca. 24 °C).
• The minimum outlet water temperature of a cooling tower depends on the wet bulb temperature of the installation site during summer. Normally, the cooled water temperature is about 2.5 to 3 °C higher than the local wet bulb temperature (W.B.). For example, in Baku, where the summer wet bulb temperature is 23.8 °C, the normal cooled water temperature provided by the tower is around 26 °C.

• The fan stack support frame is made of 6 mm galvanized steel sheets, while the protective fan guard mesh is manufactured from hot-dip galvanized iron with a zinc coating thickness ranging from 83 to 110 microns. The motor support frames and bases are made from galvanized steel angles.
• The panel holders, tower base frames, and external supports are manufactured from hot-dip galvanized iron with a zinc coating thickness of 150 microns.

To minimize water drift or droplet discharge from the top of the 60-ton cubic fiberglass cooling tower, PP blade-type drift eliminators are installed above the nozzles, reducing water loss to less than 0.002% of the circulating water.

• Fan Arm: This component connects the fan hub to the blades and is made of galvanized carbon steel.
• Fan Blades: In DamaTajhiz counter-flow cooling towers, the fan blades are made of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), offering superior chemical and physical durability compared to aluminum blades. Their smooth surface minimizes friction and air resistance. These blades are manufactured using isophthalic resin and premium-grade fibers.
• Fan Hub: Made of ductile cast iron in a coupling design, allowing easy assembly of the fan blades.
• Bolts and Nuts: High-strength dry bolts and nuts are used in fan assembly. For corrosive or acidic environments, stainless steel fasteners are employed.

Cooling Tower Inverter or Variable Speed System

If you order the cubic cooling tower with an inverter system installed in the control panel, it will be possible to adjust the fan and motor speed to precisely control the outlet water temperature of the cooling tower. (When ordering the inverter system, a separate control panel must be provided for the tower.)
The inverter frequency adjustment is controlled by a sensor operating within a defined temperature range. Inverter operation is based on frequency variation, meaning the motor power remains constant. In cases where the outlet water temperature is not highly sensitive, a thermostat can be used to switch the motor on and off instead of an inverter.

How much Space Does a 60 ton Cooling Tower Take?

All cooling towers must be installed outdoors and exposed to direct airflow. There should always be enough clear space around the cooling tower to ensure easy access to fresh air. The hot air discharged from the tower should be vented in such a way that it cannot return or recirculate into the cooling tower. Recirculated hot air increases the wet bulb temperature, preventing the outlet water from cooling effectively.
In general, for towers up to 2.5 meters in height, approximately 0.1 m² of surface area is required per ton of refrigeration (in building applications) for every 50 m² of the building’s usable floor area. For towers taller than 2.5 meters, the required surface area is about 0.12 m² per ton of refrigeration for every 50 m² of usable building floor area. Final assembly of cooling towers larger than 250 cm in diameter will be carried out on-site with an additional assembly fee.
• If it is not possible to transport the cooling tower as a single unit to the project site or rooftop installation area, please request the cooling tower in disassembled (demontage) form at the time of purchase.
• All transportation costs and, if required, reassembly costs at the installation site are the responsibility of the buyer.
