- For inlet pressures above 4.5 bar, it is recommended to install a pressure-reducing valve before the multi-port valve. Alternatively, at a minimum, close valve No. 1 (inlet) when changing the position of the multi-port handle to prevent sudden pressure from damaging the valve.

- Using muddy water or water containing suspended particles, as well as water with high levels of iron, manganese, copper, or other heavy metals, can damage the softener resin and reduce water output. (It is therefore recommended to use a sand filter to remove suspended particles before the water enters the softener.)
- Preventing the freezing of resin and water inside the softener is critical. (Freezing can destroy the resin’s chemical properties.)
