Startup Instructions for DamaTajhiz Resin Water Softener
- In the first step, the DamaTajhiz resin water softener must be installed on a suitable foundation according to the explanations on the previous page and then piped.
- Then open the bottom flange of the DamaTajhiz 30000 grain semi-automatic metal resin water softener or other models and carefully pour coarse silica into the device onto the nozzle plate (be careful not to damage the nozzles).
- Then level it, close the bottom flange completely and seal it (now open the top flange and pour finer silica onto the coarse silica).
- Completely empty the resin bags onto the silica inside the softener and tightly close and seal the top flange.
- Place the multi-way valve lever on position number 3 (RUN), close valve number 2 (outlet), and open valves number 4 (drain) and number 1 (inlet) for 5 minutes to wash the silica. Then close valve number 4 and place the multi-way valve on position number 1 (WASH) for 10 minutes to wash the resin.
- Place the valve on RUN again and vent air through valve number 6. Then open valve number 2 (outlet) and the softener is ready for operation (add salt and water to prepare for regeneration stage).

Important Notes for Operation of DamaTajhiz 30000 Grain Semi-Automatic Metal Resin Water Softener
- The hardness of the outlet water from the DamaTajhiz 30000 grain semi-automatic resin water softener must always be monitored through the sampling valve using a hardness test kit, and as soon as the water hardness exceeds the permissible limit, the resin regeneration operation must be carried out by the engine room operator.
- During resin regeneration, be sure that the pressure inside the softener tank is between 1.7 to 3.5 bar. (If the pressure inside the tank is low, it will disrupt the brine suction process, and at high pressures, the parts of the multi-way valve may be damaged.)
- At pressures higher than 4.5 bar before the inlet of the multi-way valve, it is recommended to use a pressure reducing valve, or at least when changing the position of the multi-way valve handle, close valve No. 1 (inlet) to prevent sudden pressure from entering the multi-way valve.
- Be sure to note that using crystallized salt with high purity is very important. (Because if rock salt or ordinary salt is used, due to impurities present in the salt, the resin life will be greatly reduced and the resin will not be fully regenerated.)
- The amount of brine suction is pre-adjusted at the factory, and if necessary, it is also possible to readjust the brine suction from behind the multi-way valve next to the brine pipe.
- Controlling the factor that causes blockage in the brine path of the softener is essential, and the suction rate must be such that resin regeneration is carried out with approximately 10% concentration brine. (Reduction in brine suction may be due to reduced pressure inside the softener.)
- Using muddy water or water containing suspended solids, as well as water containing iron, manganese, copper and other heavy metals, causes wear of the softener resins and reduces the flow rate of the softener. (Therefore, it is recommended that before water enters the softener, suspended particles be removed using a sand filter.)
- When moving the multi-way valve handle, pull it gently towards yourself and place it in the desired position. (Because sudden release may damage the internal components of the valve.)
- It is also recommended that once a year, without opening the multi-way valve, lubrication be performed using ordinary grease through the gap between the cap and the valve body.
- Preventing freezing of the softener resin and water inside the device is very essential. (Freezing will destroy the resin.)

Installation and Startup of DamaTajhiz Semi-Automatic Metal Resin Water Softeners

Preliminary Startup Operations After Installation
- Connect the inlet and outlet water pipes of the device to the system.
- After opening the manhole cover (handhole flange), as shown in the figure, create a bed using silica and cationic or anionic resin, then tightly close the manhole cover using a star tightening method.
- Place the salt tank under the brine pipe of the softener in the desired location. (The salt tank must contain a saltwater solution with appropriate concentration, in which 250 grams of salt must be dissolved per liter of resin.)
Startup of DamaTajhiz Semi-Automatic Metal Resin Water Softener
- First, close all valves and open the air vent valve of the device. (Figure 1)
- Place the solo valve handle in the Run position.
- Open valve No. 1 in Figure 2 (inlet), at this stage the tank will gradually fill with water.
- As soon as water exits from the air vent pipe, close the air vent valve.
- Open valve No. 2 in Figure 2 (outlet), thus the device is ready for operation and water softening.
- Note 1: During operation, ensure that the internal tank pressure is between 1.7 to 2.5 bar (via the installed barometer).
- If the pressure is less than 1.7 bar, sealing and brine suction will be disrupted, and at pressures above 6 bar, the solo valve components may be damaged.
- Note 2: Never operate the solo valve at pressures higher than 2.5 bar.
- Note 3: The hardness of treated water must always be tested, and once it exceeds permissible limits, resin regeneration must be carried out immediately. On average, this should be done every two weeks by the operator.
Resin Regeneration Method
- First close valves No. 1-2-3-4 in Figure 2.
- Set the solo valve to Regen position.
- Open valves No. 3 and 4 so that brine enters the system. If you open the cap on the salt nozzle located behind the valve, suction can be adjusted using a screwdriver. (Part of water is drained and replaced with brine.)
- After sufficient time, proceed to washing the resin with water.
Resin Washing with Water
- Close all valves.
- Set the solo valve to Wash position.
- Open valves No. 1 and 3 (inlet and drain), water enters from the bottom and exits from the top.
- Wait about 20 minutes until the resin is completely washed and brine is discharged.
- Close all valves and open valve No. 1.
- Set the valve to Run position; the system is ready again.
